guerz.lol has a projects tab now.

an actual one.

not a “coming soon” ghost link. not a placeholder div with good intentions and nothing behind it. a real, click-on-it-and-things-load page.

the idea behind it

i split everything two ways.

• cold builds
• FCC (freeCodeCamp) workshops, labs, & cert projects

cold builds are stuff i coded from memory. zero hand-holding. no tutorial open in another tab. just me and whatever actually stuck from the reps.

FCC workshops, labs, and cert projects are built to spec, off freeCodeCamp’s user stories. and come with instructions.

• box model.
• flexbox.
• css positioning.
• a survey form.

all cold.

registration form shipped as the first fcc project. four more sitting in the “coming soon” pile until i actually earn them. and more than that to come based on whichever one I choose to prioritize next from the list of FCC workshops & labs.

every project gets a preview/code toggle, so you can watch the thing render and then flip over and steal the source if you want it.

that’s kind of the whole point, honestly.

the “! [rejected]”

pushed the commit.

felt good about it.

got slapped with a giant red ! [rejected] instead.

git yelling something about the remote having work i don’t have locally.

had a small spiral.

turns out that’s not github being an asshole. that’s just git being git — pull before you push if the remote’s moved on without you.

rebase. replay my commits on top. push again.

done.

not the disaster it looked like for the two minutes i was staring at it.

the page that refused to update

refreshed guerz.lol/projects.html.

nothing.

just the old page staring back at me like it hadn’t heard the news yet.

started panicking that github pages just doesn’t work the way i think it does.

narrator: it does work the way i think it does.

i just needed a cmd+shift+r, because my browser was sitting on a cached version like it personally had something to prove.

hard refresh.

and there it was.
