So. I’m doing this.
I’ve been circling the idea of learning web development for longer than I’d like to admit. I had a whole Geocities phase back in the day — custom layouts, blinking text, the works — and somewhere between then and now I lost the thread. This is me picking it back up.
Starting May 7, 2026, I committed to a self-administered 16-week web development bootcamp. No institution, no tuition, no cohort. Just me, a structured curriculum I built myself, a MacBook Air M4, and a lot of freeCodeCamp.
Here’s what the roadmap looks like:
Week 1–2: HTML fundamentals + semantic HTML
Week 3–4: Forms, tables, accessibility
Week 5–8: CSS (Flexbox, Grid, Tailwind)
Week 9–11: JavaScript fundamentals
Week 12–14: React + component thinking
Week 15–16: Capstone project + deployment

My learning stack: freeCodeCamp (primary), W3Schools (reference), Codecademy, Encode iOS app, Scrimba, Obsidian for notes, VS Code for building.
I also have a custom Pomodoro interval I’m calling PomoGuerzo: 48 minutes of work, 13-minute short breaks, 23-minute long breaks. It fits my brain.
This blog is where I’ll document the process — the wins, the frustration, the “why won’t this div center” moments. If you’re learning alongside me or just curious how a self-built curriculum holds up, stick around.
